The Power of Prayer

Prayer is more than a religious routine. It is a powerful expression of our dependence on God, a place where faith is strengthened, burdens are surrendered, and divine intervention is sought.

During this powerful Sunday service, Prophet Isaac Anto delivered a timely message titled “The Power of Prayer,” reminding believers of the importance of remaining committed to prayer, trusting God completely, and refusing to give up—even when answers seem delayed.

Never Give Up on Prayer

The foundation of the message was drawn from Luke 18:1–6, where Jesus teaches His disciples about the importance of persistent prayer.

Jesus presented the parable of the persistent widow to demonstrate that believers must continue to pray and must not lose heart.

The lesson is simple but profound:

Men ought to pray and not give up.

There will be moments when we pray and do not immediately see the answer we desire. There may be seasons when circumstances appear unchanged and when waiting becomes difficult. But delayed answers should never become a reason to abandon prayer.

Prayer requires persistence.

When we continue praying, we demonstrate that our confidence is not in our circumstances but in the God who is greater than them.

Prayer Does It All

Prayer changes things.

It may not always change a situation immediately, but it changes our position, strengthens our faith, gives us direction, and brings us into deeper fellowship with God.

There are battles that human strength cannot win and situations that human wisdom cannot solve. In such moments, prayer reminds us that we are not alone.

Prayer does it all because prayer connects us to the One who can do all things.

Rather than carrying every burden alone, we are invited to take those burdens to God.

Have Confidence in God

One of the greatest foundations of effective prayer is confidence in God.

We pray because we believe that God hears us. We pray because we know that He cares about us. We pray because His ability is greater than our limitations.

Confidence in God means trusting His character even when we do not understand His timing.

Sometimes God answers differently from what we expected. Sometimes the answer takes longer than we hoped. But faith teaches us to remain confident that God is working, even when we cannot yet see the result.

Do not allow the appearance of delay to make you doubt the faithfulness of God.

Have Faith in God

Prayer and faith cannot be separated.

When we pray, we must believe that God is able to respond. Faith does not mean that we dictate how or when God must answer; rather, it means that we trust Him completely with the outcome.

Our confidence must be rooted in who God is—not merely in what we want Him to do.

When circumstances say, “It is impossible,” faith says, “God is able.”

When the answer seems delayed, faith says, “I will continue to trust Him.”

When the situation becomes difficult, faith says, “I will not give up.”

Have Faith in Prayer

The message also challenged believers to develop a deeper confidence in the power of prayer itself.

Do not pray simply because it is a Christian obligation. Pray because you believe prayer matters.
Pray when things are going well.
Pray when things are difficult.
Pray when you understand what God is doing.
And pray when you do not understand.
The persistent widow in Luke 18 did not stop seeking justice. Her persistence teaches us the value of continuing to present our requests rather than allowing discouragement to silence us.
